Understanding your Safety Score

A general view of relative risk in an area, to help you plan

What is the Safety Score?

The Safety Score gives you a general view of relative risk in a supported area. It is there to help you plan, whether you are heading somewhere new, deciding on a route, or choosing when to set off.

The Safety Score is a safety awareness tool. It is not a guarantee, a prediction, or a replacement for your own judgement and local knowledge.

How to read it

Open the map in Namola and look at the Safety Score for the area around you. A score shows relative risk compared with other areas, so you can get a feel for where extra care makes sense.

Safety breakdown

Tap an area on the map to see its safety breakdown. Where we have the data, this explains some of the factors behind the score, so the number is easier to understand.

What the Safety Score is not

  • It does not predict crime or tell you that something will happen.
  • It does not label an area as simply safe or unsafe.
  • It does not replace your own awareness of your surroundings.

Use it alongside the Safety Overlay to see risk patterns directly on the map.
