Purchasing a Namola Plus subscription or Panic Tracker for someone else

Buying a Namola Plus subscription or Panic Tracker for your loved one is one of the best gifts that you can give. Here is what you need to know if you are thinking about making a purchase for your loved ones:

How to purchase a Namola Plus subscription:

You can purchase a Namola Plus subscription in the Namola App with these easy steps:
1. Open the Namola App
2. Tap on your Profile tab (last tab on the far right)
3. Tap "Shop"
4. Scroll down and add a Namola Plus subscription to your check-out cart, by tapping the "+"
5. Tap on the cart in the top right-hand corner and follow the prompts to check-out.

How to purchase a Namola Panic Tracker:

Unfortunately our Namola Panic Trackers are currently sold out. 

What you need to know about purchasing a Plus package for someone else: 

  • The cost of a Namola Plus membership is R49 a month. 
  • The purchase price of the Namola Panic Tracker is R1399, and an additional R79 a month, which gives you access to Namola Plus and covers your data and sim costs.

When you purchase any of these options for your loved ones it is important to know that the card that you make the purchase with will be the card that the monthly membership fee is collected from each month. Should you not want the monthly membership to come off your account each month, we suggest that you transfer the amount of the Panic Tracker (R1399) to the person that you are buying the device for, and they purchase the device on their card.

Assigning a Namola Plus subscription to someone else:

Purchase the Namola Plus subscription in the in-app shop then you will need to follow these steps: 

  1. Go to the "profile" tab
  2. Tap "Manage your Plan"
  3. Tap on the Namola Plus subscription 
  4. Tap "Assign to Someone Else"
  5. Choose the contact that you would like to assign the membership to. Please note that the person you are assigning it to, needs to have the Namola app installed.

 

If purchase a Panic Tracker for someone else how do I ensure that they are able to use it. 

The Namola Panic Tracker is shipped unassigned therefore it is not required that the person, who purchases the device, make use of the device.

Once you have purchased the Panic Tracker for someone else there are two ways that you can set it up for them to use: 

  • Option 1: Link the Panic Tracker to your own Namola App profile. 

This option is the best option when the person that you purchased the Namola Panic Tracker for does not have a mobile phone with their own Namola app, such as your child or elderly parent. To set up the Panic Tracker follow these simple steps: 

  1. Go into your Namola app
  2. Tap on the Safety Devices tab and "Add" in the top right corner
  3. Scan the barcode behind the Panic Tracker
  4. When the app asks you, who will make use of the device,  select "someone else" and enter the person's details.
  5. When the SOS button is pressed, their information will reflect.
  • Option 2: Link the Panic Tracker to their Namola app.

This option is the best option when the person that you purchased the Namola Panic Tracker for does have a mobile phone and has their own Namola app.  

  1. Go into their Namola app
  2. Tap on the Safety Devices tab and "Add" in the top right corner
  3. Scan the barcode behind the Panic Tracker
  4. When the app asks them, who will make use of the device,  select "myself".
